I'd like to recommend a Bronze Star of the Empire for VA Gunman. His ability in command of the Redemption is outstanding, even in difficult times such as this. Gunman leads by example with his flying activity, which is most impressive, as it is not only high in quantity, but also in quality. Last month alone he flew 43 missions, achiving new high scores in most of them. He is an excellent pilot, officer and leader, and with all that along with his efforts in keeping the Redemption together, I believe he has once again earned this prestigious award. Flight Officer's recommendation: RA Gunman was last month still the Wing XXI Commander. He has done an excellent job in that office, before being chosen to fill the Commodore spot after VA Pellaeon's resignation. Also, his performance in Raise the Flag has helped his ship a great deal to earn the third place in the competition, with him earning no less than 170 points, flying many missions and achieving an impressive number of highscores. Gunman: I have watched this pilot since the day I joined the EH. He was once my flight mate (when I was in Alpha as flight leader of flight 3) and came back to Alpha recently. During his stay, he flew almost consitantly. Here in the TCBG, he does heavy spurts and is talking about retiring permanently. For all of his work in the EH as a pilot, I need to reward his extensive efforts to better the EH as a whole. I can only think of one medal to award this pilot for his "lifetime" Achievements.
Recommendation: I respectfully requested that a Silver Star be awarded to Gunnman for his lifetime dedication and achievement as an officer in the Emperor's Hammer. If it was not restricted by General activity and dedication, I would have recommended the Gold Star.

Gunman has served as a member of the TCBGs for his entire career, and always aspired to some day become a Commodore. In his own words: "I've reached the top of my mountain, and had some tea in it. But now, I'm gonna start climbing down."
Gunny's dedication to his ship and his battlegroup is rivaled only by his ability as a leader. In his time as ColCOM, the ship grew in numbers well beyond the other two ships of the battlegroup, and he has also inspired those same pilots to be active by being active himself. Leading from the front, if you will.

Another fine month of working very hard to make his squadron the best it possibly can be. He has been organizing competitions, encouraging his pilots to stay active and upbeat, and leading by example by flying a dozen or so missions and battles, a very respectable amount for a commanding officer with a lot of other things to worry about. Because of his leadership, activity, and his reliability, his squadron's moral has remained high and the squadron has remained active despite recent losses of pilots and the absense of GN Drake. All in all, an excellent month from an experienced CMDR who can be relied upon to work very hard for his squadron, and get results.

What follows is his COM's recommendation. I'd like to add a few points first.
From my vantage point I've been able to see all the WCs in the Battlegroups respond to this crisis. Gunman has certainly ranked among the best, if not *the* best during the time covered by the award. And he wasn't even officially a WC. He's been organizing competitions, running his squadron, and doing his best to keep his people motivated and moving. This all came during a time that saw him lose one of his most active pilots to the rDB thing. Dispite all that, his determination and drive never lagged. VA Kalar does a good job of providing specifics; I'm framing his performance against that of his peers, and he clearly stands out as deserving of this recognition. All the BGs' WCs have done fine work, but Gunman has done both a WC job AND a CMDR job at the same time and excelled at both.
VA Kalar's reccomendation follows:
Lieutenant Colonel Gunman, in the past month since I have become Commodore of the Relentless, has consistently and thoroughly shown himself to be the best commander on the ship, and one of the best I have ever worked with. He has not only the dedication necessary for a successful officer in the Tie Corps but also the ability to motivate and lead his squadron, and the ship as a whole. From day one he offered suggestions, ideas and support to a degree I have not seen from many officers. He is a mature and responsible officer, and this gives his squadron the stability that every squadron could use more of. Despite some problems arising from recent events, he has been one of the strongest voices for not just getting back to normal, but becoming better.
Recently the Relentless has been faced with both the absense of Drake as Wing Commander and the problems arising from the Rogue DB. LC Gunman reacted with maturity that was lacking in many much higher ranking officers. Even before I asked him to be Acting Wing Commander, LC Gunman was organizing competitions and making suggestions on how the Wing can not only stay active, but improve. As a direct result of his positive attitude and leadership, the Relentless has done a far better job dealing with the absense of her Wing Commander and the Rogue Dark Brother problems than I would have expected, and that I have seen from other TC units. Leaders of his caliber are rare, and I believe that LC Gunman has great potential. I am proud to have this fine officer on my ship, and while I know he doesn't do this for the medals, I believe he deserves this one for the exemplary performance I have seen from him thus far.

Extremely dedicated to his position, Very active on IRC, Email and on the Message Boards. Recruiting really well for his squadron. I feel sorry for him processing all of those BSF's from Darth Vader.
