Dante was raised on Corellia as the son of an Imperial Officer and a school teacher. His father had begun his career in the Old Republic and had finished it with the Empire. Dante was raised in the military lifestyle and was bred for it from birth. His father, John Dante, was killed in a shuttle crash soon after his son Matt had begun the Imperial Academy which was about 2 years before the fall of the Empire. Matt dropped out of the Academy and began working odd mercenary jobs until he decided to join the Emperor's Hammer.

Significant events of adulthood:

At first he joined the Tie Corps, but decided to transfer to the Army after his initial ground school. By this time his mother had passed away from an odd illness that she caught from one of her students who had been on vacation to a remote planet. Dante got into the stormtroopers and worked his way into the Hammer's Fist, an elite unit. His first assignment was to Vengeance/2, but was soon transferred to Vengeance/1 where he helped the unit become one of the best in the Empire. After a good evaluation from his platoon commander, he was given command of Vengeance/4. He excelled as a SL on a variety of operations and special missions over the course of the next few months. Eventually he was offered the chance to leave his spot in Vengeance and become the Platoon Commander of Nova Company's Umbra platoon which was newly formed. After three months in this position he was offered the spot of Nova Company Commander where he served faithfully. His next duty post was that of Assistant Commander of Training which he held for three months before moving up to hold the position of Commander of Training. During his tenure, the CSMA developed approximately 10 new courses and grew into a respectable Academy. After 3 months at the helm of Training, Dante was moved again to a new position... that of Commander of Opertions. From there he became the Executive Officer of the Hammer's Fist, and then he moved to Prefect of the Hammer's Fist. After a successful tour, he resigned and became the Assistant Commander of Information. Following a long time acting as the Prefect, he was officially appointed the Prefect once again of the Legion. He returns every now and then to the Subjugator because he has been given the task of formulating the CAS Aviation Course for the CSMA and to formulate the plans for a CAS unit that will be permanently assigend to the Hammer's Fist Stormtrooper Legion.

Alignment and attitude:

Dante is a very courageous yet careful soldier. His tendency to volunteer for point duty isn't one of bravado or stupidity, but a sense of duty and caring for his squadmates. He seems to have an unusual and unexplained knack for knowing when to lead his men away from danger and when to attack in combat. His vices include strip clubs(his favorite is Big Daddy's!} and imbibing large amounts of alcoholic beverages, but it does not seem to interfere with his duties in the Hammer's Fist. He has developed a close bond with the members of his unit, particularly those who have served with him in the Nightstalkers (Vengeance 1). He is also close personal friends with Vice Admiral Depriest and the two have spent many a time in Big Daddy's!
