â€œIn the past two years I have seen many dedicated Commanders on the Avenger and the Subjugator, but when I think of the quintessence of Squadron Leadership, there is one name that comes to mind: Quincy Nelson.
For over a year I have had the pleasure of working with Quincy Nelson, first as a fellow Commander, then as his Wing Commander. In that year, Quincy has always been a down-to-earth leader who can easily relate to his pilots and gives them what the want (and even more impressively, sometimes seemed to know what they wanted before they did). On the administrative side of his duties, Quincy is the one Commander who, in 10 months under me, never failed to complete a duty assigned to him, officially or unofficially. In short: Quincy has been a great Squadron Commander and a great friend. It has been a true pleasure to work with you, Quincy.
For his dedication to the TIE Corps, Slayer Squadron, Wing XIX, and the ISD Subjugator, and for his exemplary performance of his duties, and going above and beyond the call of duty in his leadership, I hereby submit this recommendation for the Bronze Star of the Empire .â€

"I distinctly remember MAJ Quincy Nelson as a great CMDR and an excellent officer. His ambition to make Slayer squadron into the top squadron of the EH TIE Corps motivated his pilots to go the extra mile and really made them feel part of an unit to be proud of. Quincy has served on a large number of ships during his 6-year career, but I think his impressive 14-month leadership of Slayer on the Subjugator was one of the highlights.
The Major has always been a great example to his subordinates, participating in many combat operations and leading from the front against hostile squadrons, including EH-units. As a loyal son of Aurora and a CMDR one can count on, MAJ Nelson never neglected his duties. His trademark, crisp, colourful reports are another thing I will always link to him. He regularly participates with his Squadron in competitions and maintains an extremely high e-mail activity, along with IRC. CPT Quincy Nelson has again proven himself to be a Commander who leads his pilots from the front. Always involved in combat, Captain Nelson completed 52 combat missions this month! In addition to this, he flew several Free Worlds missions for the Sovereign vs. Subjugator fleet exercise, and joined his squad mates in showing his support for the Subjugator by writing three pieces of fiction as well.
In addition to his battle prowess, Captain Nelson keeps in contact with his subordinates and Wing Commander daily by means of IRC. For his display of skill in battle, enthusiasm in combat and service in leading his squadron, I recommend CPT Quincy Nelson for this award.

CPT Nelson has once again proven himself to be a leader who truly takes charge and leads from the front. In the month of December Captain Quincy Nelson flew 19 missions, one of the highest number in the Wing for the month.
In addition to his flying activities, CPT Nelson stays in contact with me daily and always makes sure his superiors and subordinates are aware of the goings on in the Squadron and the TC around them. He is truly the rock up which Slayer Squadron stands.
