Firebreaker ended up leaving Kashyyyk to seek work as a mercenary soldier. While flying from system to system, Firebreaker was swarmed by multiple pirate ships. Out of nowhere, a TIE Defender swooped in to assist Firebreaker and together they defeated the pirates. The person in this TIE Defender was none other than Zekk Terrik, and after saving Firebreaker, they became lifelong friends. Firebreaker swore a Wookiee life debt to Zekk for saving his life.
