I’ll never understand what an officer, particularly a General, finds so fulfilling about risking his life in a starfighter when the real excitement is here on the ship giving briefings and attending meetings.

As the Warrior's resident artiste extraordinaire, GN Jarek La'an won the Raise the Flag Graphics Bonus Competition, took third place in the Fiction Bonus Comp, and turned in quite a few more works over the course of the month. In addition, he flew 107 missions leading to an RtF total of 263 points that greatly contributed to Theta Squadron remaining the TCCOM's Own Escort Squadron for the third competition in a row and the Warrior remaining the TIE Corps Flagship for its third year. For his efforts in June, I recommend that GN Jarek La'an be awarded the Silver Star of the Empire.

COM's reccomendation:Denied retirement several times, GN Jarek La'an pressed forward and continued to lead Theta Squadron to new heights over more than 20 months of service. To commemorate La'an's outstanding tour of duty as commander of Theta Squadron, back-to-back Raise the Flag champions, I recommend that he be awarded his second Grand Order of the Emperor.
SOO: GN Jarek La'an served in his long time career in very much different positions. Here are some examples: 2 times as SOO, TCCOM, Commodore, Wing Commander, multiple times as CMDR and COMM. He was always an enrichment for the club. He worked hard to make it a great place. He already got one GoE for his SOO tour of duty. I'm not at all a friend of double awards of the high end medals. For his sacrificially efforts for the EH I would go a step further and upgrade it to an Imperial Cross. I know thats more than a CMDR can expect normally in his career, but La'an is more than an exemplary Officer of the TC.
TCCOM: GN Jarek La'an is one of the few members of the TIE Corps I would call essential for the success and forthcoming of the TIE Corps. As Admiral Pellaeon already mentioned, General Jarak La'an served in nearly every position the TC had to offer during his now 12 1/2 years of service. His last ToD as CMDR of Theta lasted for over 1 1/2 years. In this time he served far above and beyond the call of duty. He's been always there when his pilots, his squadron, his ship or anyone else within the TIE Corps needed his help. More than once he offered me his help in aiding me with problems and he always was there with a great advice. For all his service I can only second Admiral Pellaeons recommendation of an Imperial Cross for General Jarek La'an.

General La'an played a mean trick on us. He tried to convince us it was his last RTF. He did not however fly like somebody who did not intend on staying. Honour was at stake, and the good Theta CMDR pulled through with a very impressive total of 466 RTF points. He also was instrumental in the fiction and graphics bonus competitions achieving first and second place respectively, not to mention the 190 missions flown and 24 LoCs. In addition, he had the most RTF points for fictions and graphics volume submissions. His squadron also won the competition for the second year in a row. I firmly believe La'an is deserving of a Gold Star of the Empire.

La'an commanded the winning squadron of Raise the Flag 2014. His efforts cannot go unnoticed, as this is no small feat. That alone merits a great reward. However, our decision making process in this case is facilitated by the fact that La'an earned 93 LoCs, and earned an excessively large amount of points from SC losses in the competition which gave him quite the point cushion. In addition, La'an was the top art contributor for the TIE Corps, writing 27 submissions, and making 23 graphics. Let's not forget that La'an won the top spot for the bonus fiction comp. Moreover, La'an also provided an excellent example for his pilots by participating in all bonus rounds, and being a strong leader at the Wing level for any tactical situation that arose during the competition. La'an finished 3rd on the ship, and sixth overall.
And all that with 9 days of leave in the month. Case closed.

La'an had a good month activity wise with 38 missions flown, including one high score, all while earning 56 LoCs for Star Conflict activity. He also performed quite well as usual in his Commander duties running solid competitions for his pilots, and writing excellent reports. La'an did all this while being on leave a remarkable 19 days, which proves that he's probably a natural at this, and that he won't be able to use "busy with RL" as an excuse. Tough break La'an, you're stuck with me forever, this month proves it.
SOO's review: given Colonel La'an's performance as Squadron Commander where he shines on his own motivating his already excellent pilots to keep their drive, while still being quite active himself with many missions flown plus a ton of Legions of Combat coming from his multiplayer victories on the Star Conflict arena, not to mention his 19 days leave seems to have had no significant impact on his activity, I totally agree on this recommendation. Outstanding, Colonel! Just keep it up, or even better: improve and look for even bigger medals in months ahead!

La'an has done well since transferring to the Warrior. He's submitted the usual paperwork with his usual charm, which is great for Ship and Squadron morale. He's been cursed a little bit more with the RL/LoA bug than usual, which is what he gets for buying a new house. However, he's still managed to lead by example, earn 24 LoCs, and start nifty competitions such as the run-on and the picture guessing competition. For his continuing efforts, I'd like to award La'an the Imperial Security Medal!

Just before the split of our glorious Fleet in two different ships Colonel Jarek La'an, now Theta CMDR, was still leading Lambda Squadron as maybe one of the best two or three units the TIE Corps has seen in years. What we thought it was almost a challenge, reopening a completely new squadron on 2014 after our success with Beta, he made it not only possible but what it needed to be done. And during March he has been leading 'The Old and the Bold' for it to maintain the same level of performance and activity to the point that it's now maybe the best squadron onboard the ISD Warrior under the Theta banner. Leading by example seems to be his trademark with no less than 113 Legions of Combat coming from his victories on Star Conflict, where he's helping The Emperor's Hammer to regain a name long time forgotten among the online community, something we have been longing for since the days of The Zone. And that's not to mention the perfect fulfillment of his duties as CMDR, with all WSRs being there in due time and featuring and excellent quality, detailed MSE where he's clearly doing his best for his pilots to get what they deserve, running several squadron-level competitions and motivating his pilots around the best he can. Did I mention his strong online presence and efforts in communication with not only his squadron but the Fleet as a whole? For all this I find necessary to recommend Colonel Jarek La'an to be awarded The Bronze Star of The Empire due to his performance as commanding officer and pilot on March 2014.
TCCOM's comments: I agree with the Bronze Star for COL La'an, for his impecable leadership in Lambda/Theta and his own personal activity which is splendid. I have no doubt we will be forced to upgrade his awards for the following months! Keep it up, Colonel!

Colonel Jarek La'an 'veni', 'vidi', and we TIE Corps Admiralty members couldn't believe what we 'vidimus', for the guy definitely 'vici'. Victory for him and, much more important, victory for Lambda Squadron which he managed to command for it to write its name in letters of glory. Never before, to my knowledge, a newly reopened (from scratch) squadron became one of the best units of the whole Fleet in so little time! His recruiting and motivating efforts were enough to fill his 'Old and Bold' to be an 11-man squadron... on a month... on 2014... unbelievable. And as if filling his new unit with so much rotten flesh wouldn't be enough, he dared to outperform himself abusing his pilot side; true story, for the good ole' colonel was able to close his claw over the 'MP Ace of the Month' title last February with no less than 169 Legions of Combat! coming from Star Conflict multiplayer victories, which in turn makes a COO happy and Emperor's Hammer a name to be reckoned with on the Star Conflict online scene (which could perfectly mean even MORE new recruits finding their way to his squadron... *gasp*). For all this, not to forget his assured online presence through all our official comm. channels (as befitting a COMM... *ahem*) where he's always eager to give a helping hand wherever needed and a doom anywhere else, not to forget the fact that he created a new banner for Lambda, not to forget he's always there to help the Admiralty with his vast knowldege on TC procedures coming from his past ToDs as SOO and TCCOM, not to forget that he still holds quite a long e-mail address and none seems to care about... I find more than justified to recommend Colonel La'an to be awarded The Bronze Star of The Empire for his achievements, both as CMDR and a multiplayer pilot, during last February.

Fleet Admiral La'an has been the most invaluable asset for the TIE Corps in these past few months. He has mantained close relations with the Squadron Commanders, ensuring good operations, and consequently a great service for the TC members. Besides that, La'an has kept The Karana Initiative fiction going, creating a good fiction atmosphere within the fleet. For all his efforts, I believe FA La'an has deserved this Silver Star, which hopefully will progress to higher medals in the near future, since he will continue to be of major importance to the fleet in the coming months.

Rear Admiral La'an has been an integral part of the TCBG flag staff since Thorin's expulsion, and has done an excellent job of holding his ship together in the face of so much controversy. He was able to coax almost 100% participation out of his pilots for most of ECR VI, and has put the Relentless in a very good position to overtake the current lead ship and retain its title of TCBG Flagship.

CM La'an one Free Mission during the month (XWA-FREE #72). He changed the motto's and nicknames for the Flights in his squadron as well as rearranged the pilots within those flights. He was also awarded an IS-BW for coming second in a Flying competition. Finally, he successfully completed the Rebellion Tactics IWATS course with a score of 100%. I'd like to recommend an ISM for the Commander.

Major La'an has served onboard the Immortal, and now Relentless his entire career. He served with distinction as Phantom Squadron Commander for many months, and when the Immortal closed, he brought his entire Squadron to the Relentless, where he served many more months as Commander. Major La'an has recently been appointed as my Wing Commander, and has in his entire time under me always impressed me a great deal. He participates at any opportunity on the ship, and has helped the Relentless in many areas, including recruiting. Major La'an recently finished second place in the Wing Commander's Challenge, where he fought valiantly to the end, and ending up coming in second place by a matter of 2000 points on a battle. For his distinguished service under me as a Commander, Pilot, and now Wing Commander, Major La'an is most worthy of this award, and it is a great honor for me to award it to him. Congradulations, Major!

CMDR's Notes: Jarek was busy this month on a consistant basis. He kept
in touch with me frequently via email, MSN, and even IRC once. His
dedication is unmistakable, that's why I appointed him my FL/XO. In
addition to flying 6 battles (battles that I assigned to the squadron for
citations. Phantom has gained 26 citations this month) and 3 free
missions, he submitted an excellent fiction during the time his XWA CD was
broken and needed to be replaced. He participates in every competition
that I provide.
