Yes, finally! The Hammer's March Mayhem begins! We start the competition off with the week 1 task: complete a JigSaw puzzle. Also, you're given the fiction assignment. Contrary to the weekly tasks, the fiction part will last for the whole month, simply because a fiction may require a little more time. I've added the details to this report in the Commodore's Competitions section!

On to the ship news.... I'm happy to see that both new Squadron Commanders are making the changes in their squadrons they feel necessary. LC Clark appointed a new Flight Leader in Delta, and MAJ Iceman appointed a new Flight Leader in Alpha. Congrats to both new Flight Leaders, CPT Fenn and CM Saknussem. The shuffling in Delta's roster does mean the squadron is now comprised of only 2 Flights though, so if you know anyone who might be interested, we're all ears! Also, I'm very glad to see both of them have already submitted their Monthly Squadron Evaluations and medal recommendations for February. An excellen start, you two!

More good news - the Ship Evaluation for January was processed, with several nice shinies awarded: a Bronze Star of the Empire for myself and for MAJ Iceman, a Palpatine Crescent for COL Pellaeon, and an Imperial Security Medal for CPT Fenn. Although I'm happy to see these awards, I do wish to see more of them next month! Hopefully we will, as the new MSEs are due this Friday!

It's also time again for the Commendations of Loyalty to be given out. All Command Officers get to make one nomination, and so far I've already got 3 out of the 5 I will need (including my own...). Commanders, if you haven't sent yours in yet, be sure to do so before Friday. The list will go to the TCCOM then, and if your recommendation isn't on it, it may be lost!

With the end of February, we see the end of the second round of The GOG Games, this time we have flown TIE Fighter Battle 2 - The Sepan Civil War, and X-wing Tour of Duty 1 - A New Ally. Results are below.

A close one this month. And it's going to be interesting to see who reaches the next rank first, and who will advance fastest in the Secret Order of the Emperor! FYI: the numbers in the columns for score and kills are this battle before the slash, and total after the slash. As you can see, the top 3 pilots are very close together, and with 11 more battles to fly, anything can happen!

As for the X-wing battle, it has fewer participants, but that was a bit to be expected as it's a much less popular platform. Still, I had hoped for more than 2 players. People who couldn't find the time this month, feel free to submit your pilotfiles at a later point to have a chance at the grand prizes!

For both platforms: people who did not fly this month are still encouraged to fly next month when we fly Battle 3 - Battle of the Frontier and Tour of Duty 2 - The Great Search. True, you probably won't catch up for the big prize at the end of the year, but you can win the monthly medals and win the participation medals! Also - the X-wing battle only had 2 participants when there's 3 medals available, so you might get 3rd, or catch up!

Since it's the end of the month, several monthly competitions have ended. Congrats to MAJ Iceman for winning the last edition of the Hammer Pilot of the Month competitio. As said in my previous report, the competition will not return in its current form, and I'll be asking the SOO the officially close it. It will return however, in a separate MP and SP competition. Also, congrats to COL Pellaeon for winning Hammer on Recon!

Dempsey's Weekly Riddles

Every week, the report will have a riddle. First pilot to send the correct answer to the mailing list wins. Each victory earns you an IS-BR. Unless it's a 5th victory, you then get a IS-SR. Unless it's a 10th victory, which gives you an IS-GR. A 25th victory will give you an IS-PR!

This week's riddle: You have two pills to take each day. The trick for the pills to do their thing is you must take exactly 1 pill a day of type X and 1 pill a day of type Y. Taking one without the other means they won't work, taking more than the 1 pill a day will mean serious trouble (ok, so not very realistic, but who cares....). Now here's your problem: one day, you accidentelly find yourself with three pills in your hand: 1 of X and 2 of Y. You really don't want to throw them away, so how can you take these three pills without breaking the rules?

Hammer on Recon

Submit your StarConflict screenshots to me. For Domination and Beacon Hunt, the highest number of captures wins. For Team Battle and Combat recon, the highest number of kills wins, with assists counting for half a kill (rounded up). Submissions not earning a medal will earn an activity point. First place wins an IS-SW, 2nd a IS-BW (with 2 submissions or more, otherwise IS-BW for first). Submissions earn 4 pts for 1st, 3 pts for 2nd, 2 pts for 3rd and 1 pt for others. At the end of the month, the top 3 MP flyers will earn an IS-GW, IS-SW and IS-BW. 10 activity points wins an IS-BW and every 50th activity point will earn an IS-SW.

If you haven't seen it yet, try to get your hands on Star Wars: Rebels. It's a great animated series that apparently I had missed for the past few months while it was one. Sure, it's not Clone Wars, but heck - it's Star Wars, so it's probably good :)
