Gamma Squadron Report

Weekly Report #23 – Submission date: February 4th 2012

Introduction

Greetings,

As you may have noticed, this report is coming out a little earlier than usual. I decided to release today, because tomorrow I’ll be on a plane the whole day to take a course near Washington next week. I believe I’ll have internet access throughout the week, but as you can imagine, I might have little time to do anything TC related.

On with the news. There has been some discussion regarding the TC using the new site developed for the TOR Guild. As much as I can understand the reasons behind this move, so that EH members can interact, I don’t agree with it. The TC needs its database. Not because we want to keep the historic record of our Sublieutenants that joined in 1999 and never did anything for the club. But because we need it, since that’s how this group works. We need the Mission Compendium with a working BSF system, we need to be able to check our medals and high scores properly. Essentially, we need everything Kawolski’s database had. This is the TIE Corps, and we do still play TIE, XvT, XWA and even XW, and I, as a TC member, am not interested in playing anything else for this club…for that I have my playstation. So, my point is, if it’s decided that the new database just won’t cut it, and we should move anywhere, I believe the only place we could go is back to Dempsey’s database, because nowhere else will have the functionality we need to keep the TIE Corps running. I don’t think we’ll ever be allowed to do that, but I just wanted to point that out, and say that as far as we go from that model, the closer we are going for the TC to be disbanded.

Congratulations to Captain Impulse, who was selected as The Black of Black in January, for his dedication to the squadron!

I guess that’s about it with the news this week…MSE will be submitted after this report is issued.
