HAMMER REPORT #151 (2020.05) |

REPORTING OFFICER: Admiral Miles "Tails" Prower, Commodore
DATE SUBMITTED: 12 April 2020
|
INTRODUCTION
|
It's been awhile hasn't it, pilots? My apologies for the silence here.
The month of March has not been the greatest as far as RL
entanglements. Earlier in winter, I had to take time out due to my
father's diagnosis and later surgery for Stage IV cancer in the
mouth/neck. He got through the surgery and subsequent recovery and had
been home for a couple months before coming down with an infection.
That infection took his life on 4 March. He was 67 years old and a
Vietnam veteran who served in the United States Navy from 1973 to 1980
and also worked as a police officer, sheriff's deputy and correction's
officer from 1981 to 2003, and finally as an industrial electrician
from 2003 to 2015. March mainly consisted of handling service
arrangements and also getting a double gut-punch of a respiratory
infection which I may be suffering lingering side effects from.
Now that the bad's out of the way, let's get to the good. First off,
Fleet Admiral Plif has been instated as our new TCCOM, taking over for
High Admiral Pete Mitchell, who gained promotion from Fleet Admiral to
High Admiral yesterday as a testament to his excellent work as TCCOM.
Pete is now a Flight Member in Kappa Squadron Flight 3 as a Major. He
goes to Kappa though with our utmost respect and gratitude for his
service to the Emperor's Hammer taking on the heavy mantle of
leadership. As I've said in e-mail, we will be in good hands with Fleet
Admiral Plif. I have served under him not just as a Commodore but also
a Flight Member for him when I returned from my years-long hiatus to
fly in Sin Squadron. This man is a legend but also a gentleman and a
gunfighter, you can learn a lot from him.
Speaking of gentlemen, my esteemed colleage Vice Admiral Hav Antiel was
granted promotion to full Admiral as High Admiral Mitchell's final
command action. Hav, who is the Commodore of the ISDII Warrior served as Epsilon's
Squadron Commander for close to two months before I took command, then
for the next year as a Flight Member and Flight Leader respectively
before taking over Sin Squadron, then finally taking command of the Warrior itself when Plif was called
to action as SOO. We may banter about who's got the better ship but
it's all in good fun and we consider ourselves a band of brothers like
Nelson's Captains of old. I am immensely proud of Hav's achievement and
hope to continue to see more of the excellent work he is doing.
Yours truly managed to get some stick time in yeterday alongside
Colonel Doyon and Major Araujo of Alpha racking up some Legions of
Skirmish and we managed to get a battle in today as well. This has
brought me to some thoughts about establishing a multiplayer 'campaign'
consisting of creating mission scenarios and fitting the AI side
accordingly with objectives in place. Yesterday for instance we had
'Hero Battle' where we fought Luke Skywalker, Porkins, Han Solo &
Chewie, Kylo Ren, Darth Vader and that A-Wing that crashed into the
Executor. Then we played out a scenario I like to call "Get Down Mr.
President", defending the ISDII Rapier
from an onslaught of renegade TIE Bombers and the ISD Glory chaired by none other than
disgraced Admiral Zaarin. Yesterday the ATRs managed to break through
and take the ship but today we struck back. The ISD
Challenge and the ISDII Warrior pounced and Fleet Admiral
Plif himself led the charge in an ATR as Major Araujo and I cleared the
way to disable the captured Rapier
and get the combined Rebel/renegade TIEs off the transports. We
successfully retook the ISDII and Plif even managed to capture Luke
Skywalker and his X-Wing!
Currently we have 4 Flight Member positions and 1
Flight Leader
position available. For those looking in from the outside, please
follow up via your chain of command by e-mail if you are interested in
joining us.
