Weekly Report #1 – Submission date: September 04th 2011

Introduction

Greetings, Gamma Squadron, welcome to the first edition of Gamma Squadron Weekly Report!

For those who remember it, this was the template I used for my tenure as Flight Officer/TIE Corps Commander, as well as Executive Officer. I kind of like it because it brought me so many good things in my EH career, so I decided to use it again.

There is much to do and much to report in this transition time. We have been put through difficult periods yet again, and I have no doubt that, once again, we will prevail.

The AWOL Check sponsored by the new SOO, FA Jarek La’an, has proven to be almost as bad as we anticipated for Gamma. We have lost one Squadron Commander, one Flight Leader, and two Flight Members, respectively, COL Master, CPT Aija Alura Judarrl, LC Curtis and LT Meleagris Gallopavo.

I’d like to personally thank each of you who have chosen to stay. Your resilience will certainly be rewarded. I’ll do my best to ensure it.

Other squadrons have also suffered losses, but ours was the greatest. Alpha lost 1 pilot, Beta lost 3, including CMDR Mark Schueler, Delta lost 1 pilot, and Epsilon lost 3 pilots. Gamma lost 4. Congratulations to MAJ Talon Jade for the promotion to Beta Squadron Commander!

As you know, I have been assigned as Gamma Squadron Commander, thus leaving my former position of Gamma Flight 3 Leader. For my replacement as leader of The Four Horsemen, I have assigned CM Impulse. I’m sure you will do a great job, Commander, congratulations!

I’d also like to inform you that the Flight 2 Leader position is no longer open for applications. Earlier tonight, the announcement was made that CPT Viper has been chosen for the position. Congratulations, Captain, and good luck with the new assignment!

Sadly, the new database has issues regarding CPT Viper’s position assignment in the roster. It has bounced him without any reason, and he is currently listed as a member of Flight 3. I hope this will be corrected soon, but CPT Viper can already see him assigned to the 2-1 position in this report, and update his ID like to FL/CPT Viper/Gamma Squadron 2-1, etc.

Results for “Demotivate Me!” competition have been released in the Message Boards. Congratulations to LC Tempest for his outstanding victory in the comp, and for everyone else who took part. Many people complimented our submissions, you all should be proud! Medal recommendation procedures are being discussed with the SOO, and the awards should be given very soon.

“Operation: Razor’s Edge” had a new assignment released earlier this week. All Gamma pilots are to fly TIE-DB 13 – Circlet of Domination for highest score. Deadline is a bit far away because I want to get you all time to get all set up, so I’ve set it to September 24th. If you have any problems, let me know.

I noticed in the database that Master’s competitions of Mission of the Week and The Black of Black (Pilot of the Month) are still active in the database, so they will be held by me until their end dates, which is in December of this year. Every report I’ll release the mission of the week, and if you have a suggestion of a mission you’d like to fly for next week, please let me know. Flight 3 members are engaged in a Flight-wide competition. “What if it was us?” was finally approved and is up and running. Flight 3 pilots are assigned to fly XWA-TC 62 – Outbreak, and write a fiction about how each mission would go if it was actually The Four Horsemen flying it. For that particular assignment, I’ll still be assumed as in Flight 3 Leader position. Deadline is September 15th.

Competition Center

* Operation: Razor’s Edge
Participants: Gamma Squadron – CMDR included, since competition was started by COL Master.
This competition has been started by COL Master. There were already 2 parts for this competition, and a third one is ongoing. The first part consisted of a trivia question regarding the origin of the name of the competition, which was answered right by me, granting me 5 points. Tempest and Impulse got 3 points for their answers. The second part was a flying assignment, which was anything you’d want from the compendium. All Gamma pilots are to forward their submissions to me for processing until my next report (September 11th), or they’ll no longer be considered for the competition. I know COL Viper Pred submitted TIE-Free 35, I submitted XWA-Free 1, CM Impulse submitted TIE-Free 264, and LC Tempest was flying a gazillion mission long battle. Other than that I got no information. The third assignment is as follows:
Current Assignment: TIE-DB 13 – Circlet of Domination
Deadline: September 24th
Scoring: Trivia points assigned by COL Master. First flying segment will be one point for each mission flown, two if it’s a mission high score. Third assignment scoring is:
Top LL Score: 10 points
Second place: 5 points
Third place: 3 points
1 extra point for each individual mission highest scorer (total of 6 points available).

* What if it was us?
Participants: Gamma Squadron Flight 3 only!
Gamma Flight 3 pilots are to fly XWA-TC 62 – Outbreak. For every mission, they are to write one paragraph of fiction telling what the mission would be like if it was actually The Four Horsemen ™ that participated in the mission. If by any chance we are already in any particular mission, they can write about what we actually did, or should have done (so mission designers can portrait us properly next time). Fictions will be judged by humor, coolness, or whatever makes The Four Horsemen ™ look good...or bad. Grammar and spelling not to be an issue. Fictions will be judged by Gamma Flight 3 Leader (currently Gamma CMDR), who will also fly the battle, but won’t be eligible for the IS-BW.
Awards: IS-BW for battle top scorer and IS-BR for best fiction.
Deadline: September 15th

* Master's Mighty Mission of the Week! - Redux
Start Date: February 28, 2011
End Date: December 30, 2011
Participants: So we must begin our long journey... Towards the lands of Awesomeo... Towards greatness....
Awards: Highest scorer after 4 rounds will win a IS-BW Any pilot who scores higher than me after 4 rounds will also receive a IS-BW. Medals only available to pilots within Gamma Squadron. Any entries from other pilots are welcome.
Description: In an effort to promote good missions, lots of medals and good old competitive spirit each week I’m going to nominate a free/battle/map. After four weeks (end of each month) the scores will be totaled. Highest scorer will win a medal as well as any pilot who beats my own score.

Conclusion

This report has been longer than I expected. I’ve resurrected the sections of Dark Lord of the Week and Ewok of the Week, which were a creation of our own COL Master back in the day.
