Pilots of Wing I.

Hey all...

Slow week within the wing, but it's HOT out(...and in...)side, so I'm guessing few are spending time at their computers, me included, so that's OK. Plenty of other stuff going on in RL also, what with the Football World Cup, Wimbledon tennis and a MINOR U.S. Holiday this weekend (!!).

Vip's back and I've sent of those things I wished to bring up with him that I mentioned in WWR#6, so we will see what that brings (mostly minor stuff anyway...).

I see we're getting more WSR's; well done to CPT Ard Royber who has posted his first since taking over as Alpha CMDR. Many more to come, I hope... =)

"WC's Wingman - TIE" ends tomorrow, so still time to get an entry in. I do now, at least, have enough entries to give-out both Iron Star medals, but don't let that put you off... "WC's Wingman - XvT" starts tomorrow, with a time-limit of 3 weeks (to fall in-line with the 'TIE' version and because I'll be away on hols, so the end-time will now coincide with my return...). I have (hopefully) picked a better Battle for you all this time around! =)

The Dean's Fiction comp is still going, and in fact, there are several things going-on, so hopefully something there for everyone to have a stab at.

This weeks "Congratulations" go to MAJ Mark Schueler, newly appointed FM within Beta Sqn, for coming from the Reserves to rejoin active duty. He now takes 7th spot in our 'FCHG' Top 15! Also to RA Tomaas Montte, who has now 'officially' left Epsilon Sqn to take up his post as CA:TO (CPT Panaka sneaks back into the FCHG Top 15 because of this). And, not forgetting LT Shado Fenn, for his recent Promotion to Leiutenant AND winning Wing I's Student of the Month for June.

There's certainly been some movement with pilots coming out of the Reserves and also moving on to greater things, there's still more awaiting approval (both in and out) by the TCCOM, so we're a little 'unsettled' at the moment. But change is a good thing, and it also helps refocus Sqn goals, if nothing else, many of your 'Battle Citation' numbers have changed dramatically, so that gives you something to aim for in the future.

As mentioned last week, I will be away from this coming Friday for just over 2 weeks. Hopefully there's enough in the Competition Centre to keep you all active whilst I'm away, I'd like to see a few more Squad comps though as, at the moment, only Delta have any to keep their pilots active.

I'm hoping to get one more (probably short) WWR out before I leave. I will compile it day-by-day when things occur over the coming 5 days then post it at the last possible moment, just to keep you all as up-to-date as I can before I disappear... =)

Let's just hope this good weather stays with us whilst I'm away and I can enjoy it. It's strange how 'good' weather is not so good when you're working, but it's the 'most important' thing when you're on holiday!!
