Raise
the Flag is over and yes, our colleagues on the Warrior won. Sure
they'll be bragging about it for a week or two but the Hammer didn't do
too badly, in fact we almost closed the gap with the Challenge. We even
managed to pull off a coup with our very own General Elwood the Brave
becoming the TCCOM's Personal Wingman. It just goes to show you, you
can take the TIE out of a TCCOM but you can't take a TCCOM out of a
TIE. Maybe he did it for the fact that he's defending our #1. Maybe he
did it because he found out there's an additional beer stipend. We'll
never know.
Speaking of TCCOM's, you'll notice Epsilon Squadron has another pilot.
We suspect it's Pellaeon with a mustache wearing a colonel's uniform
because he says he's Colonel Pellaeon (wait, Pellaeon always had a
mustache). But hey, I won't complain! Welcome to Epsilon, Pell! Where
your old drinking buddies are and you can finally kick back and relax a
bit.
Taking the big chair in his stead will be none other that the former
SOO, Admiral Pete Mitchell who is our new TCCOM. All hail Tex and his
skill in micro-warping into giant rocks. You'll never live that down
for as long as I live (and for as long as we keep whacking bounty
hunters to discourage them from taking his contract). In any event,
well done Pete :P
Also the role of SOO is up for application. Admiral Mitchell sent out a
message to the fleet entailing his requirements. I hope those of you
that are prospects consider them carefully and weigh in the commitment
necessary for the role.
I've got a couple combat events in the oven that I'll be discussing
with the COO, one for intra-ship and one for inter-ship. I feel it's
high time we started to shoot at each other more often in the simulator
pods, and there will likely be awards in it for your efforts. I'd like
to know what day of the week would serve best for both if at all
possible so that we can organize. All you'll need is yourself, a
comfortable chair, a joystick, Gameranger, XvT or XWA and preferably a
mic, maybe Discord too.
