of news to get through this week!
Firstly, the sad news
that LC Kenath Zoron has had to move to the Reserves due to RL pressing too
much on his time. We're sorry to see him go, but hope when he gets more leisure
time he will be able to rejoin us once more.
Secondly, we have
a replacement! Please join me in welcoming LCM Halk Knight as FM/3-2. He has
already sent in some entries for RtF 2009 and I will be working to help get
his ID line sorted out medal-wise.
Speaking of RtF, we've
had a few flying entries already and several more to come, do what you can and
keep up the good work!
Congratulations must
go to CM Dunta Polo who, because of LC Zoron's transfer, has become our highest
ranking FCHG pilot. He also passed the 1000-point mark for the year and is still
on-course for an IS-PW in the 2009 Ace of the TIE Corps. I'm sure we're all
rooting for him as he has worked so very hard. COL Conker Blackwood of Beta
Sqn is chasing him hard, but we have faith that he will see off this challenge
with not much over a month left to run and a lead of over 230 points. Keep it
up Commander!
We've also had a good
medal-haul throughout the squad this week - so, well done to all that received
some recognition for their efforts...
The Dean has announced
that the role of 'A:Dean' has been awarded to FA Howlader and the SOO is still
deciding on the Alpha CMDR position, so there's still time to put in an application!
=)

In Closing:
Well, quite a busy week for us with the loss of a good pilot
but then getting a replacement in only a few days.
Then there's the RtF Competition now underway, which seems to
be creating flying activity (don't forget the MP that's going-on this weekend
if it's your thing...) which is nothing but a good thing! =)
We'd like to be the most active Squadron in the comp, so anything
you can do towards it will be great & much appreciated. Don't forget the
3 'free' missions for High-scores are easy and 'quick' to fly, so why not try
one? Oh, and just to clear-up any confusion, all pilot files should be sent
to your CMDR. I know that the SOO will BSF them if sent, but unlike the 'Op.
Serpents Sortie' Comp., even the 3 HS free-missions should be sent to me.
You can keep an eye on the Competition running-totals &

Yoda for the work - I think that this is a great idea from the SOO & hopefully
it will keep the interest there till the end.
Just one slightly negative point this week - several of you
are perilously close to being declared AWOL due to lack of comms; in order of
