The sad news this week was the passing of Carrie Fisher who passed away at the age of 60. For those of us who fell in love with the Star Wars franchise, whether as kids or as adults, she was as much a part of our lives as members of our own family were. I can honestly say I've spent more time with Carrie Fisher in her role as an actress (not just in this movie but in all of her movies) than I have with family members. She will undoubtedly be missed.

 

On a more upbeat note, Happy New Year to 2017! May it suck less than 2016!

 

In our continuing moving coverage, Rogue One is still out and people are still seeing it . If you want to talk about it, you can either join the Telegram Discussion (with spoilers!) that Plif sent out last week or join in on the Message Board thread that the TAC created. Either one is fine, but please don't send spoilers out in an email thread for anyone who's yet to see the movie.

 

Speaking of Message Boards, I am going to try and make an effort to be more involved at the Squadron level on our MB's, including the posting of relevant news topics at least weekly. Hopefully some of you will join me there. In addition, I'm holding off on announcing new competitions until later in the week, as a lot of us are still on leave (or hungover) from the New Year's celebration. Expect an email from me in the next day or so once we're all back and I get my comp's approved by the SOO.
