This month's crowning achievement of the Tactical Office was the long delayed release of what are now the very first
Corporate Division TIE battles. With the second mission in the series corrupted to the point that it crashed the majority of the mission editors in my arsenal, it took me several days to transfer over the mission data to new files. The debriefing and map animations could not be salvaged and had to be recreated from scratch. Other missions throughout the series had minor errors that needed to be tidied up, but finally, exactly seven years from its submission date the TIE version of "CDNG: Paper Round" was released to the Mission Compendium. Unfortunately, I initially forgot to include vital files in the EHM packages, but that has now been resolved.
We also had a bit of a down note with the resignation of FA Elwood the Brave from the TAC Staff due to time constraints and his obvious priority of being TCCOM. Woody was one of the fastest Surveyors and has reported on eleven missions since I began my tenure as TAC. To honor his service to the TAC Office, FA Elwood the Brave received a Medal Of Tactics - Blue Hammer.
HA Dempsey is at it again. Submitting an XvT and TIE version of "Jeequi Encounter". So now, other than the final check of RA Hawkins's "X-Wing in TIE Fighter: Tour 2", the battle queue consists entirely of her work.
Both FA Elwood's resignation and HA Dempsey's domination of the queue leaves me with a need for more Tactical Surveyors, primarily for XvT. Any pilots interested in testing battles before release or corrections, contact me at
tac@emperorshammer.org.
In conjunction with my duties as acting SCO, I tested and resolved two bug reports on the TIE95 EHSP. These reports, dealing with the TIE Phantom causing crashes, appear to be because of user error in patch installation as they could not be duplicated.
