ISD-II Hammer
Commodore HA Dempsey reporting
Report ID: H.AD.037
Report date: November 15, 2015
Hi folks
Today I fear I will have to start off with a bit of bad news, as I was informed of the passing of our former Delta pilot, COL Jacob
van Nowak. Accidents do happen, but usually not to people you know. Life sucks.
On to happier thoughts....
This week I gave myself a change of pace, and climbed back into my XWA cockpit, after over 5 and a half months of not flying.... It felt good. I even managed to get
1st in the TIE Corps on Patrol mission. Too bad there were too few submissions for the IS-GW, so I will have to settle for the IS-SW.
Which I will do.
Better news though is the promotion of Epsilon's LCM Witcher to the rank of Commander, after spending 5 years and 3 months as LCM.
Ouch. May you soon outgrow that CM rank as well!
MSE medals were also awarded, and although I would like to see more, we can not be disappointed, with no less than two Silver Stars of the
Empire and FIVE Bronze Stars of the Empire awarded! Both Silver Stars were awarded to the new pilots in our midst, LTs
SuSaWo and Silvius. It's not an easy feat to earn one of these in your second month of active duty!
And I do believe LT Silvius has set a new record: a Bronze and a Silver Star in merit medals earned without a single ISM or PC! Congratulations also to
COL Rau Aznable, CM Doc, COL Golbez Harvey and GN
Coranel Both on their Bronze Stars, making it the most awarded medal this month! Also, congrats to everyone else on their merit medals too!
Also congratulations to the TCCOM and SOO on their awards, the Gold Star of the Empire and another Silver
Star of the Empire, respectively. This has been a good month indeed!
That said, plans for a new TC wide competition attached to my reports for next year are in full progress. I plan to utilize some code I used earlier for this,
but said code requires some testing, and so I will run a small little competition on the Hammer which is to start my next report. I hope many people
will enter it, as the more tests I get, the better!
I really don't have much else to add. Although I am looking forward to the end of the GoG Games: TIE Fighter competition. Two more
battles to fly, and in my opinion, they're not getting any better. Unfortunately. Now I just have to make sure I stay ahead of VA Plif!

Dempsey's Weekly Riddles
Every week, the report will have a riddle. First pilot to send the correct answer to the mailing list wins. Each victory earns you an IS-BR. Unless it's a 5th victory, you then get a IS-SR.
Unless it's a 10th victory, which gives you an IS-GR. A 25th victory will give you an IS-PR!
This week's riddle: There are 9 lights organized in a 3x3 pattern, each with a switch next to it. If you hit a switch, the light that is next to it, and all the
other lights on the same horizontal and vertical will flip. So each light that is on will turn off, and each light that is off will turn on. All 9 lights are lit. What is the least amount of
switches you need to flip so all 9 lights will be off? Explain....
