COO REPORT #7 |
FROM: COO/RA Hawkins
DATE SUBMITTED: 14th November 2015 |
TALES FROM THE AGGRESSOR |
Thing were looking up. RA Hawkins looked at the controls before him. It felt too long since he'd
been able to climb into the cockpit, and sneak away from the Aggressor and get into the fray himself!
Now, however, with LT Silvius buried under a mounting pile of datapads for the moment, he felt he could log some
flight time secure in the knowledge the paperwork would find itself done by the time he returned. Not too
bad.
He looked around the confines of his cockpit. Definately not Imperial. There were life support systems and
everything. Jump drives, missile pods, system boosters, electronic defences. This heavy fighter was easily the
match, technologicaly speaking, of a missile boat. He wondered how two such craft would fare if facing one another.
His heavy fighter couldn't match the missile boat for top speed, nor for warhead capactiy, but the overcharged
gunnery systems would tear through the shields and hull of a missile boat with ease. A TIE Defender might be a
better match against this craft, perhaps.
There was little likelihood of him finding out anytime soon, of course. The systems he was heading for were in
constant chaos. The Emperor's Hammer was content to leave it that way. As long as the various factions remained
fighting each other, he and his fellow pilots would continue to sew the seeds of distrust and anarchy.
The irony that the EH was relying on tactics much like those employed by the Rebels who had shattered the Empire
from which the EH was born was not lost on Hawkins.
He headed to the nav-buoy. The flight to the combat areas would be long, and give Hawkins plenty of time to double
check each system. The calm before the storm. But how he longed for that storm.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Hawkins walked back down the corridors of the Aggressor, his non-regulation flight suit only slightly charred. He
headed for the maintenance decks, and began to feel the familliar throb of the Ion engine generators. It was a
difficult sensation to describe; not quite a noise, and not quite a vibration, but enough of both to be very
noteable. The sensation grew, until he found himself out side his old office, the new home-away-from-home for
Silvius. He found his COOA right where he expected him - with the paperwork.
“Lieutenant,†he spoke. Silvius jumped to attention. He was in his flightsuit - a clearly used flightsuit. He'd been
out again. How did he keep up with all this paperwork and still fly as much as he did? Hawkins decided he may need
to have him followed.
"Something else to keep you busy," and Hawkins through down a small pile of his own reports.
"All go to plan, Sir?" Silvius asked.
"Mostly," Hawkins smiled. "Met a couple of our boys out there. We gave better than we got. Not every mission was a
success, but no lasting damage. Still, those we did not win we made them pay for it - and we left the place slightly
more chaotic than when we arrived, so all in all, a good day's work."
"Yes, sir. Are those for me?" Silvius reached out for the stack of data pads Hawkins had tossed him.
"Indeed," Hawkins said, watching Silvius as he began to process the reports. "Carry on." And with that, Hawkins
turned and left.
"I really must find him some more work..." He thought, heading back to his quarters.

BATTLEFRONT 2015
Battlefront 2015 Approaches... Some of you with early access may already be on it! Sparky is, anyway
(Still waiting on that emailed confirmation, Sparky!!). Officially, I believe the release date is the 17th of
this month. Therefore, I felt it would be time to tell you all where we currently stand with regards to Battlefront
in the TIE Corps.
The current plan is that the Starfighter Mode of Battlefront will be quickly approved as a TIE Corps MP
Platform as soon as it is confirmed that it is Starfighter exclusive - no swapping between ground and air/space -
Sparky! Currently, I believe that it IS starfighter exclusive from the reviews, game videos and early gameplayer
reports from Sparky. we have seen. I expect this can be confirmed on or shortly before the release date. If you
already have access, not mentioning any names :-p , please confirm details via an email to the admiralty, with an
example of a 'victory' screenshot if possible (so we can see how to process them)! Thanks!
Once this has been confirmed, Battlefront 2015 will be added to the LoC Report form (and LoS should there be a
relevant gamemode added) as soon as Dempsey can manage. From that time, all Victory screens can be submitted online
using the usual process. Victory screens taken BEFORE the platform is approved and Report form is updated will
still be valid - please save them ready for submission. Assuming, of course, the platform IS
approved.
In the event there is a delay in getting the report format updated, we will inform you and until it is resolved
submissions may be made by email to myself and LT Silvius. Please wait until confirmation of the platform is given
before mailing them!
I hope that gives you a clear idea of what will be happening over the next week regarding this new gaming
opportunity. Assuming all goes well, our next urgent step is how to translate it into recruits...
THE COOA SETTLES IN
LT Silvius has reached the end of his settling in week. From now on, he's free to deny any report he sees fit with
no need to double check with me first! He is released to deny you to his heart's content! Please give him ample
opportunity to do so by submitting many, many LoC and LoS reports! However, should you wish to avoid any denials,
please consider the following points:
- Make sure the screenshots you submit show all pilots listed in the report.
- Make sure each listed pilot meets minimum submission requirements (usually 1 kill/objective/shows the captain
medal).
- Make sure the reported match is a Victory.
- Avoid submitting duplicate reports.
These cover the majority of the situations we come across. If in doubt, please email myself or the COOA, LT Silvius.
STAR CONFLICT - UPDATE & DREADNOUGHT
The dreadnought is now complete! Still weapons and systems to add, but the hull is all done! AD Plif has been
running a competition to choose a name, and it is now voting time! Head over to https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1YVpRhfI-
XVokGkS9ISr0WkxaQ33xqiJfneB90Qc0fWk/viewform?c=0&w=1 to cast your vote. Voting ends today!!
NOTABLE COMPETITIONS
We have our first entries in the Pyrrhic Victory competition! Although there is some clarification to be
made for this one. The competition is for PvP entires only. The new details are as follows:
Star Conflict: Pyrrhic Victory
This was suggested by our new COOA, LT Sivlius. The Star Conflict: Pyrrhic Victory is a chance to recognise those matches
where you fly yourself ragged, achieve great things, but due to the vaguries of random team selection, still suffer
a loss! So, in the spirit of the '300 Spartans', those losses can now be recognised for the piloting achievements
they represent. This competition will recognise the highest Efficiency scored in a PvP match that was otherwise a
loss. This is an email entry competition, so email me at nedius@gmail.com with
your submissions, So, remember to screenshot those losses, and submit your best!
Combat Center Banner Competition
The revamp of the Combat
Center is still underway, and we await the first entries into the banner competition! Currently, the Combat
Center banner looks like this:

And I think it's time for a renewal. So, the Combat Center Banner competition has been created! Your challenge is
to design the Combat Center a new banner/headline image. This is a two month competition - so plenty of time to come
up with and develop your ideas, and we can start the new year with a new image for the Combat Center! Once you've
come up with your entry, please email me at
nedius@gmail.com with your submission!
AVENGER SQUADRON
We are still discussing various ideas for Avenger. One that is gathering a little steam is
treating it as at least a position of honour, and allowing it to be added to signature lines as a symbol of
mulitplayer activity. Top pilots would be rankedas CMDR and FLs. The current trend is getting it added to the MP
Rating part of the sig - so it may appear as [Marksman 2nd - AVENGER/FM], or something along those lines. Must get
round to asking Dempsey about that.
One - The problem with the current Avenger Squadron is that it's based on the same criteria as MP Ace of
the TIE Corps and MSE awards are also based on the same activity, so you can't award Iron Stars or Merit Medals for
being in Avenger Squadron the way it is now. So, change it. Turn Avenger Squadron into a dueling society where
pilots have to establish a 1v1 history against other TC pilots. The TC pilots with the top twelve dueling records
are Avenger Squadron members, at risk of losing their spot if other pilots are more active duelers than they are.
Records would have to be based on both win/loss ratio and overall matches played to make that work. The problem is
that this would only really work for XvT and XWA and all of the MP issues with those platforms. You can duel in SC,
but it might be weird (or might not?). Avenger Squadron members earn Iron Stars based on how long they've remained
members of Avenger Squadron and their position within the squadron.
Two - Make Avenger Squadron membership based on XvT and XWA MP only. Avenger Squadron members earn Iron
Stars based on how long they've remained members of Avenger Squadron and their position within the squadron.
Different from the previous idea because win/loss ratio isn't a factor , it's not just 1v1, and MP PvE would also
count.
Three - Turn Avenger Squadron into a recognition program for TCoR and COO competition/event participation.
Some number of points for each week/month/competition participated in, more points for winning. At the end of the
year, Avenger Squadron pilots would receive Iron Stars (or merit medals?) based their point totals.
Please, discuss these ideas by replying to this mail, and email me if you have any other ideas on how to move Avenger forward!
