Reviews for TIE-TC 45

| | No plot. The briefing and officer dialog lean toward the empty side. The battle title is self explanatory, but that's all you're given. Traitors are attacking, so destroy their fighters and their fleet of capital ships over the course of the battle. That's it. Capital ships don't pose much of a threat, provided you're attacking the correct mission objective. They're parked in space and rarely do anything except return fire. The craft and loadouts are inconsistent, partially explained by a shortage of fighters, the only thing the plot bothers to mention. You'll face waves of T/As and T/Ds, which make for an interesting challenge (or agonizing experience) in a slow gunboat, which you have to fly in two missions. The second time you'll have a tractor beam, though it would've been nice to have at first. The missions and their objectives are very simple, and if you're gunning straight for completion they usually don't take long. Scoring can be difficult as you don't have much control over the dogfights or friendly craft, competing with their advanced missiles for kills. Enemy fighters, especially T/Ds will very commonly crash into starships, robbing you of points. There's also nothing differentiating the traitors, leading to a confusing situation of Alpha attacking Alpha. Overall poor mission design. There's some novelty in the dogfights if you enjoy nimble opponents (like I do), otherwise there's nothing of value here. |

| | This battle was extremely troublesome to complete, leading to having to attempt it several times. While the battle can be readily completed in under 30 minutes, it involves considerable waiting periods for vessels to arrive, followed by long dogfights in poorly selected craft. While it offered some fun moments, all in all I would not fly this battle again and would not recommend it for squadron or wing comps. |

| | Gave up on mission 1. The only way to win is to keep pounding the STRKC in your unshielded TIE, or it will go after the FRT. Terrible idea. One can only wonder what the mission creator was thibnking. Heck, I had all cheats enabled and didn't bother finishing this. Perhaps a massive reworking of this one is in order. Can't comment on the other missions though... |

| | Too many problems. Too unbalanced.
I wanted to give zero, but decided to give 1 point for author's effort. |

| | Pretty much the same mission cloned a few times, with crap like cap ships ramming each other, others being invulnerable, first generation TIEs entering from hyperspace, and dogfighting TDs in a GUN. It's a very fine example of very bad and lazy mission design. Gotta love Jansj's comment about the grinding headache, it hits the nail on the head. Ouch. |

|
| | Bad goals (100% of fighters destroyed in primary), the Relentless is disabled for no reason in mission #1, and the traitors are just called "Alpha" etc so you have to be careful what you're shooting at. Awful.

| | Mission 1: Nice. Promising story start. Missions 2 through 6: Pwamp Pwamp - incoming missile Pwamp Pwamp - incoming missile Pwamp Pwamp - incoming missile Pwamp Pwamp - incoming missile Pwamp Pwamp - incoming missile Pwamp Pwamp - incoming missile Pwamp Pwamp - incoming missile Pwamp Pwamp - incoming missile Pwamp Pwamp - incoming missile Pwamp Pwamp - incoming missile (noticing an annoying pattern here???) Missions 2 through 5 (in addition): Invincible ships. This is ... horrendous. It could have been three missions over all (with considerable improvement of the flight groups and profiles) with the patrol, the scout, and the kill everything. A fourth mission might have been a straggler's fight. This was a 4 hour headache that is poor at best and a complete waste of time. I would only fly it to patch holes in the pilot's completed list.

| | This isn't the worst battle I've played in the EH yet, but I have to say it's probably in the runnerup category. It's not so bad at first, and seems like it might turn out to be average. Unfortunately, everything after a few missions just consists of endless dogfights with waves of TIE Defenders and TIE Advanceds, which isn't the most interesting experience ever, to say the least. If you have some time and you're willing to end your session with a grinding headache, go ahead and try it. Otherwise, I wouldn't recommend it.

| | One of the most annoying and frustrating missions I've played. Yes I did it on hard but still. I could punch the creator.

|
| | Not a bad battle, but it seems like every mission you fight the same 4 groups of Tie Defenders. It wouldn't be that bad except for the lack of variety in enemy craft.
